Northwave CERT Receives ‘TI Accredited’ Status

The Northwave  Computer Emergency Response Team (NW-CERT) has been accredited by Trusted Introducer (TI). The Trusted Introducer (TI) Service serves as an agency to collects and distribute relevant information for security and incident response teams. Founded in 2002, the TI has grown out to be a well-known institution amongst the European CERT community. They are responsible for the accreditation as well as certification of teams according to their demonstrated and checked levels of maturity. 

"This is great news for the CERT as well as for Northwave as a whole," says Steven Dondorp, CEO of Northwave. "Before being accredited, the NW-CERT already received the status 'listed'. We are extremely happy to have now received an accreditation. This provides our CERT with a community of fellow experts as well as more international recognition. This is beneficial for our international expansion."

Over the past few years, the Northwave CERT has acted on many cyber incidents throughout Europe. The team has been deployed by a number of Cyber risk insurance companies. Corporate victims of cybercrime can also call the team's Alarm Hotline that is staffed 24*7. 

"Cybersecurity is getting increasingly complex and at the same time more crucial to organisations," Pim Takkenberg, general manager of Northwave explains. "Companies that are affected by cyber incidents often experience complete disruption of their business operations. This leads to immense damage to relationships and reputation, at great financial expense. We have been helping these companies  for over 15 years. It is therefore rewarding to obtain this status of accreditation by the TI."
